Card Cupids Weekly Challenge

I've posted about Card Cupids in the past. They are a great organization that sends cards to children in need. I haven't had the opportunity yet to work with them, however I do follow their blog. Its always a joy to read and they have some really awesome posts. One of the weekly posts at Card Cupids is a weekly challenge. It changes every Sunday and the themes are always pretty general. This week its red, white and blue.
I don't know about you but to me red, white and blue makes me think of the American flag. I didn't really want to do a patriotic card since I felt like that would be to easy. So instead I went through my paper stash to see what I had. I also realized that this would be a perfect opportunity to do something for my friends wedding since her colors are red and blue.

Since my friend and her fiance haven't set a date yet I decided to just do a best wishes card. This way I can send it now and she will have some color inspiration for her wedding. The dark grey dots are actually medium grey crystals, the picture just doesn't do a good job of showing them off. This card came out totally different than how I pictured it in my head but I love it. Now its off to the mailbox to go to my friend.

Love Pillows

Hello! Its been a while! Husband and I are trying to buy a house so crafting has taken a back seat. Never fear though I did find the time to make some super cute pillows! These were a gift to husband for Valentine's Day on Monday. I think the total amount of time it took was about 2 hours. Super simple and super cute.

Supplies used: two white pillowcases, fabric paint, pencil, ruler, bowl (or something head sized), and cardboard.
Make sure you put the card board inside your pillowcases before starting. I penciled out what my design would be using the bowl and ruler. Then once I was happy with my design I just went over it with fabric paint. The pencil will wash out after a couple times so its okay if you make a couple mistakes. I let my pillowcases dry overnight since you want them to be completely dry. Throw them in the dryer or use a hair dryer on cool for about 10 minutes to set the paint. Then wash them with a little bit of detergent and you're good to go!

Husband loved them and I love how they look on my bed!
