A Success and A Miss

Meet my success from the other day.

My Easter cards! I had the patterned paper for the longest time and I finally decided to use it. It isn't really my style because I don't really like pastels. But since pastels and Easter go hand in hand, I figured I'd use it for all my Easter cards. Then it would be gone and I wouldn't have it sitting in my collection for the next 6 years. The card in the center actually has glitter on that stripe. It looks much better in person. The one on the left is a spinner card! My very first! I used the tutorial from Scrappin' with My Bug. Its actually really easy. I did it in one try!

Now on to my miss.

I recently bought a bunch of tiles at the home improvement store for 39 cents a piece. I looked around on the internet until I saw this. Etched coasters! It seemed easy enough and I had all the supplies so I gave it a shot! It was so easy. The hardest part was waiting for the etching cream! I think my tile turned out okay but next time I do it I need to use more etching cream. You can't tell in the picture but theres some spots where the etching isn't as good. I do like the effect though and I can't wait to do it again!

Well thats all for now! I'm working on something else now but I can't post it until Wednesday since its a gift and the recipient reads this!

  2. I don't think the tile is a miss, but we're our own worst critics.

On another note, I LOVE giving hand made gifts to my friends, but now that I've started a blog, I hate the waiting to post...it kills me, LOL! Can't wait to see what you created!
